Guidance/College & Career Advisement

Academy of Earth and Space Science (PANTHER) students have access to two full-time guidance counselors who use a student-generated personalized growth plan (PGP) in the Naviance online guidance system and the help of grade level teacher advisories to guide students on course selection, academic growth, graduation requirements, dual enrollment opportunities, career exploration and the college selection, application and financial aid process. All students are afforded the opportunity to engage in a college admission simulation day, college visits, higher education financial aid workshop and a career exploration day.

In addition, all 12th grade students (seniors) engage in a rigorous transcript review process with their assigned guidance counselor at the beginning of their senior year to ensure that they are on track for graduation and acceptance to a higher education program of their choice. Those students who are in need of additional credits are afforded the opportunity to enroll in the district sponsored online credit recovery program using Plato Learning System.  Those students who have met their high school graduation requirements are offered the opportunity to enroll in dual enrollment courses through our school's partnership with Passaic County Community College.

Students and/or their parents/guardians may make an appointment with one of our guidance counselors at any time throughout the school year to discuss and review their social, emotional and academic goals and their progress in attaining them.
